SENIORS TOUR REPORT FROM LEICESTER

What a start to the first Seniors International Tour - there were 82 runners new and old.

Players braved the bad weather to play at the Club 147 Leicester where Ram and all his staff made everyone welcome.

As play started there were a few surprises as top players were knocked out of the main event. Keith Brewer didn�t have things all his own way when playing against Russell Burgess. He went 3-0 down and once again he had to show his ability and dig his heels in to turn this game into a victory to go through to the final.

Shane Robinson beat Nigel Olding in the other semi 5-1 to meet Keith Brewer in the final.

The final was played to a very high standard. They are both team mates from the England Seniors Squad so there was a lot of respect for each other but Keith Brewer crossed the winning line by 6 frames to 2.

In the plate semis Ian Turner beat Gareth Williams 5-3 taking him in to the final. On the other semi table Paul Henry beat Tony Carr 5-1.

Ian Turner won the plate final 5-2.

All enjoyed a great weekend.
